TERMS & CONDITIONS

Below are the Terms & Conditions for Dread-Worlds Realm of Horror

Ticketing; All‑Sales‑Final; Entry Windows

  • All sales are final. Tickets are non‑refundable and non‑transferable except where required by law or where we, in our sole discretion, offer an exchange due to operational issues (see §11).

  • Dated/Timed tickets. Tickets are valid only for the date and entry window selected at purchase. Late arrival may result in forfeiture of your place with no refund.

  • Resale prohibited. Tickets may not be resold for commercial gain; unauthorized resale may result in cancellation without refund.

  • Proof of purchase/ID. We may require a matching photo ID and the payment card used to purchase.

Nature of the Experience & Health Advisory

Nature of the Experience & Health Advisory Our attractions feature intense theatrical elements including loud noises, bright and strobing lights, darkness, fog/haze, scent effects, narrow passageways, sudden motions, special effects, uneven or damp walking surfaces, outdoor pathways, and physically demanding environments.

Do not enter if you are pregnant; have heart, back, neck, or respiratory conditions; are prone to seizures; have claustrophobia or vertigo; or have any physical or mental condition that could be aggravated by the experience or that may impair your ability to participate safely. If in doubt, consult a physician and speak to our staff before entry.

SENSORY-BANDS Full‑Contact Program (Offered Daily)

  • ScareBand format: A luminated wristband or necklace is required for crowd/actor visibility. Color communicates your chosen interaction level to staff and performers at all times.

  • Bands & meanings (displayed at admissions and queue):

    • Green — Full‑contact. You opt in to light theatrical contact and guided movement. Interactions may include brief touches/taps, staged “separation” from your group, actor‑led repositioning, and simulated “feeding/offerings” using venue‑approved props. No choking, striking, forced ingestion, lifting/carrying, or pressure to head/neck/spine is permitted.

    • Yellow — Classic scares (no‑touch). Intense show effects and proximity scares; no intentional contact.

    • Red — Reduced scare. Lower intensity; performers maintain additional distance.

  • Consent & visibility. Full‑contact requires you to wear the Green band visibly. If the band is removed/covered, staff will treat you as Yellow (no‑touch) or Red (reduced) per your direction.

  • Safe word/gesture — “LUMINA.” Say “Lumina” (or use the posted hand signal) to pause/stop interactions. Staff will de‑escalate, reposition you to a safe area, and, if requested, swap your band level. Allow a brief moment for cast resets.

  • Actor rules (guest‑facing summary). Performers may guide but will not tackle, strike, restrain with bindings, block exits, or pursue beyond show zones. Contact is never sexual or degrading. Any breach—report immediately to Guest Services.

  • Food/Allergen notice. If a scene uses edible props or scents, participation is optional; no ingestion is required. Inform staff of allergies at entry; we can reroute or disable effects on request.

Assumption of Risk; Release of Claims; Indemnity

Assumption of Risk; Release of Claims; Indemnity You voluntarily assume all risks associated with attending the Event and related activities, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, emotional distress, property loss or damage, and exposure to outdoor hazards, crowds, and theatrical effects. To the maximum extent permitted by British Columbia law, you release and discharge Dreadworlds: Realm of Horror, Constellate Films Inc., our venue partners, landlords, owners, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, and insurers (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from all claims and liabilities arising from your attendance, except for claims that cannot legally be released (e.g., gross negligence or wilful misconduct).

You agree to defend and indemnify the Released Parties from any third‑party claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your conduct, or your use of restricted items.

Code of Conduct (Grounds for Ejection Without Refund)

To protect guests and staff, violations of any of the following may result in immediate removal without refund, and may involve law enforcement:

  • No physical contact with performers, staff, props, scenic elements, or other guests.

  • No damaging or removing scenic/props/signage.

  • No weapons, weapon replicas, fireworks, lasers, illegal drugs, or outside alcohol; no intoxicated or disruptive behavior.

  • No smoking or vaping except in designated outdoor areas.

  • No external lights (flashlights, phone lights, glow sticks) inside attractions unless instructed by staff.

  • No running, climbing, roughhousing, or queue‑jumping.

  • Dress/footwear: closed‑toe, flat shoes required; no high heels or loose/dangling jewelry.

  • No harassment, hate speech, or abusive behavior.

  • Follow all staff instructions, posted signs, and barrier lines.

Age & Supervision

The Event is designed for teens and adults (12+). Guests 12 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) at all times. The experience may be unsuitable for some minors even with a guardian, especially Green (full‑contact) nights. You are responsible for minors in your care. No alcohol is permitted on‑site for guests or drivers.

Accessibility & Accommodation

Accessibility & Accommodation We strive to welcome guests with disabilities. Due to the nature of the experience, some areas may include tight turns, uneven ground, or low lighting. Please contact us in advance for details, route options, and reasonable accommodations. Certified guide and service dogs are generally permitted where safe; staff may offer alternative routing where effects or hazards make access unsafe for the animal or handler.

Personal Belongings; Lost & Found; Parking

Bring only what you can carry securely. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items anywhere on the premises or parking areas. Keep phones and valuables secured during the attraction. Park only in designated areas and follow traffic control personnel. Vehicles are left at the owner’s risk.

Photography, Recording & Publicity Consent (BC PIPA)

  • Guest photography. Personal, non‑commercial photos are permitted in designated zones outside the attractions; no photography/video inside show spaces unless signage states otherwise.

  • Security & consent recording. We use CCTV/body‑safe video and may record your affirmative consent to participation level (e.g., at check‑in or a clearly marked consent button in the first scene). These records are retained to document safety compliance and guest selections.

  • Marketing consent. By entering, you grant Dreadworld and its designees the right to use your likeness, voice, and performance captured on site in any media, worldwide, in perpetuity, for promotional and other legitimate purposes, subject to PIPA (BC). If you prefer not to appear in marketing materials, see Guest Services before entry to request reasonable steps (e.g., a no‑filming indicator and camera‑avoidance where practicable). This does not restrict security or incident documentation. Minors’ publicity consent must be provided by a parent/guardian.

Messaging (SMS/MMS) Terms (If You Opt In)

  • Messaging (SMS/MMS) Terms (If You Opt In) If you opt in to receive automated or manual text messages about our events:

  • Message frequency varies; message/data rates may apply.

  • You can opt out at any time by replying STOP (or END/CANCEL/UNSUBSCRIBE/QUIT). You will receive one final confirmation text.

  • For help, reply HELP.

  • Not all carriers/devices are supported; delivery is not guaranteed.

  • Your phone number and preferences are handled under our Privacy Policy. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase.

Operations; Weather; Force Majeure

Schedules, pricing, attractions, and queueing systems may change without notice. For safety or operational reasons (including severe weather, power outage, fire, flood, public‑safety incidents, government orders, or other events beyond our control), we may pause, modify, or close the Event. No refunds are provided for closures or delays beyond our reasonable control; at our discretion, we may offer date exchanges or credit.

Health & Safety; Illness

Do not attend if you are ill with a communicable disease that could pose a risk to others. We may implement screening, bag checks, or other safety measures and reserve the right to deny entry or remove any guest who poses a safety risk or refuses to comply with safety protocols.

Prohibited & Restricted Items

The following are prohibited: weapons/replicas, explosives, lasers, drones, outside alcohol, illegal substances, large bags, masks that fully cover the face (except approved costume nights), and items the staff deem unsafe. Costumes are welcome in public areas if they comply with these Terms and do not conceal identity or create tripping hazards.

Third‑Party Providers

Some services (e.g., parking management, food trucks, merchandise, photo booths, payment processing, or optional transportation/shuttles if offered) are provided by independent contractors. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or service interruptions of third‑party providers. Your use of their services is at your own risk and may be subject to their own terms.

Privacy

Your personal information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available on our website) and applicable privacy laws including PIPA (BC). We use CCTV and operational recording for security and incident management.

Governing Law; Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of British Columbia. Any claim shall be brought in the courts of British Columbia, subject to any jurisdiction that may not be waived by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any non‑waivable statutory rights under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (BC) or other applicable law.

Severability; No Waiver; Entire Agreement

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms (together with posted rules and any ticket‑platform terms incorporated by reference) constitute the entire agreement regarding attendance at the Event and supersede prior understandings on the same subject.
